Office Procedures

We take the safe supervision of your children seriously. Therefore, please take note of the following procedures:

Phone messages will be delivered to classrooms at 10:00 am and 2:00 pm. Therefore, if you need to get a note to your student or your student's teacher before the end of the day, please call before 2:00 pm.
If you are going to pick up your child early, please send a note with your child that day or the day before. A phone call at the last minute creates confusion in the office. In a pinch you can fax one to school (541-382-0268). For the safety of your child, we will not release a child without proper documentation.
If you are picking up your student early, please remember to check him/her out at the office. You will receive a pink release slip to be given to your student's teacher before you leave. Please do not ask that your student meet you in the parking lot. We would not be able to verify who is really in the car.
If you are going to be late, you do not need to call. After 3:15 ALL students must report to the after school play and study program, this includes High School students. Do not tell your child to walk up to the Riverwoods store to wait. Thank you.
All visitors must sign in at the office. This includes parents who will be visiting or volunteering in classrooms.

Please send a not to school for:

BUS CHANGES/PASSES - A request for a bus pass or change in bus stop must be cleared through the office in writing.
ABSENCES - Send a note with your student to his/her teacher upon returning to class after the absence.
HOMEWORK PACKAGES - Must be requested before 10:00 am
STUDENT VISITING FRIENDS - Arrangements for visiting friends should be made in advance. A signed note should be delivered to the teacher, not the office.

BACKGROUND CHECKS:

For the safety of your children, all staff members must have criminal background checks. We are asking that parents who volunteer regularly in classrooms or go on overnight field trips now be required to have criminal background checks. Please stop by the office for a form. There will be no cost to the parent for this check. Thank you for your help and understanding.
