Dress Code

At Morning Star Christian School we realize that there is a strong, positive relationship between good dress habits, good work habits and proper school behavior. The appearance of any student is the primary responsibility of that individual and his or her parents. We expect students to maintain the type of appearance which is conducive to the education process and positive Christian testimony. Any student improperly dressed will be sent to the office. The student will call home to have proper clothing brought to school.

Because our parents, staff, and school board feel that a student's dress and appearance should be characterized by cleanliness, neatness, modesty, and safety, Morning Star has adopted a "Standardized Style of Dress." The decision to not adopt a single style of dress (a uniform) or a sole-source for purchase of school clothing is intended to allow parents the flexibility of purchasing school clothes that meet the "standardized style" and their budgets. The material for all clothing may be cotton, polyester, nylon, etc. to meet the comfort and durability criteria of the student and family.

Chapel Days: Students may wear normal attire, but are encouraged to dress up. Boys may wear ties in any solid, striped, or printed style without logos or characters
Hats, gloves, and sunglasses may be worn as needed outside the building
Make up, nail polish, jewelry, and accessories may be worn in a conservative and modest fashion. Spiked or studded items are not allowed.
No cologne or perfume is permitted due to student and staff allergies.
Hair should be clean, well groomed, and trimmed or worn above or away from the eyes
Morning Star Christian School Emblems are allowed on all shirts, sweatshirts, and sweaters

PE DRESS:

Students sixth grade and above are required to dress down for PE, small logo allowed.

Finger-tip length athletic solid color navy or blue shorts.
Solid color t-shirts
Sweatpants and sweathirt for outside or cool weather.
Non-marking gym shoes must be tied or fastened at all times
