New CarpetThe first stage of getting new carpet happened over spring break. It really looks nice! Come check it out. |
Fundraising:The school staff met and discussed our fund raising efforts and needs for the balance of the school year. On one hand, we want to be sensitive to our families not to do so many that it becomes a burden. On the other hand we don't want to have to charge for the field trips. In the next 6 weeks there will be some well thought out fund raising activities that will focus on raising money from the community rather than just our school families. For this reason, we will not have a penny drive this year. You will see notes home from each class outlining these fund raising activities. We will ask for your help to make these successful. Thank you for your help. |

SCHOOL STANDARDIZED DRESS:As you are shopping for Christmas, please keep in mind our standardized dress. All students should be wearing collared, one color shirts, pullovers, or sweater in in the classroom. Please NO STRIPES, 2 colors, WORDS or designs. (A 2 inch logo is acceptable.) If you are buying jackets for school, these also should be one color. As you replace winter jackets please keep this in mind. As you shop please remember blue, brown, gray, and tan solid colors for pants, knee length shorts, skirts, and/or dresses. Plain shirts with collars. No designs or stripes. You can also order from French Toast. They do offer lots of choices in all sizes. If you order anythinng online or from their catalogue please give them our school number QS4778N. Please NO WHEELY SHOES. They drag in dirt, mud, and snow. |
PARKING LOT PROCEDURES:As a safety precaution, we have requested that all students use the sidewalks rather than cut corners in the parking lot. Winter driving brings on a whole list of concerns. Safety in our parking lot is very important. The cold weather brings obscured visibility because of windows fogged up, wet, or snow covered. Please use the middle parking lot spaces as "Pull-Throughs." That way you will not need to back up. If you arrive early, back into the spaces against the curb, but not overhanging the sidewalk. That way, when a lot of children are walking to their cars, you can pull out going forward. I have received several complaints about parents not pulling all the way forward or parking in the drive through lane. If your child is slow to come from his or her classroom, please use parking spaces, not the drive through lane. |
SICK CHILDREN:We have had an excessive number of sick children come to school lately. Don't assume that if they feel bad in the morning that they will get better as the day goes on. They should stay home if they have a fever of 99 or higher, stomach pain, vomiting, diarrhea, pink eye, or signs of strep throat. Please keep your student home so that they don't infect the rest of the school. |
