I'm proud to let you know that Morning Star Christian School is a strong healthy school that is still growing though these hard economic times.
We have an excellent qualified team of teachers who execute a well rounded academic education with plenty of one on one time with each student, every day. As the other schools are experiencing overcrowded classes, we have maintained an average class size of 13 to insure a high quality education for each student. We are happy to let you know that our enrollment is static from what we enjoyed last year.We were able to grow in several areas this year: our foreign language program offering Spanish and German, our music and art electives and our school-wide writing initiative. Students at Morning Star Christian School are still able to experience fun educational field trips throughout the year and the older children enjoy an extended overnight field trip at the end of the year. An important part of our well rounded approach engages our students in local community service projects. Morning Star is an excellent affordable school. HISTORY
Morning Star Christian School has served the Central Oregon Christian Community since 1982. The school offers a curriculum with high academic standards to meet the needs of all students. Character development is a major part of the program.

MISSION

Morning Star Christian School is to be an extension of the Christian family and their local church, working together to build a solid Christian foundation. It is our goal that these children will grow up to become lay leaders in their local churches. Faith in God, an understanding of the Bible, and solid moral character development are necessary expectations of our students as they are to be the building blocks upon which a productive life is built.

DOCTRINE
As an interdenominational ministry, we seek to build unity within the Body of Christ. For this reason we do not take dogmatic stands on the minor or controversial points of doctrine. We believe and teach a statement of faith which is compatible with most evangelical denominations.

• The Holy Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
• The incarnation of Jesus Christ.
• The atonement for sins based on the death of Jesus on the Cross.
• The Holy Bible as the inspired, infallible Word of God.
• The bodily resurrection and the hope of eternal life for all believers.
• The return of our Lord Jesus Christ.

CURRICULUM
The core of the academic program consists of the A-BEKA curriculum published by the Pensacola Christian College. This is a strong Bible centered curriculum, integrating moral values, patriotism and Christian principles. It is a highly academic education system utilizing a conventional teacher-directed classroom. The system follows a traditional approach of reading with phonics and math with memorization and drill.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

1. Registration fees are non-refundable.
2. Preschoolers must be 36 months and potty-trained by the last day of September.
3. 4-year old Kindergarteners must be 4 years and 5-year Kindergarteners, 5 years by the last day of September.
4. First graders must be 6 years by the last day of September.
5. All new students will be required to take a placement test before admission.
6. All new students are admitted on a 6 week academic/behavior probation.
7. We require the recommendation of the Pastor from the church the family attends for Kindergarten through 12th.
